This weeks drink of the week is the Hawaiian Surfer. This legendary and refreshing drink is the perfect way to relax after a long day in the hot summer sun. Your beach barbecue won’t be complete without one of these cocktails in your hand. The best, dare I say only, way to create a perfect sandcastle is with one of these drinks. To truly capture the spirit of the drink would require you to be drinking it while surfing, and though I can’t advise such a thing, it would be pretty cool. The mix of pineapple juice and coconut rum will whisk you away to your own Hawaiian island for the day. Rumor has it this drink is so refreshing that pouring a glass of it into an active volcano will soothe it back to inactivity.

Legend has it, that King Lunalilo, of the Kingdom of Hawaii, was in search of a cool drink to quench his thirst after a long day of surfing. One of his servants came up with this drink, trying to please the king. It was originally served in a hollowed out pineapple. YUM!
